chugga chugga

FYI:  The firetruck visit has been rescheduled for this Wednesday, March 6th.  Let's hope there isn't another emergency that will keep them from visiting us again!

We finished off the month of February learning about all kinds of transportation (trains, planes, busses, cars, boats, etc.).  The class favorite seemed to be the "choo choo"!
We painted stop signs that we have been using during music time for a couple of songs that say "Stop!".
The children are doing a wonderful job of being attentive during story time these days.

I thought I'd show you some updated pics of how they play in the gym.  They've all grown so much since the beginning of the year!  They've gone from just sitting on the toy, to making it move backward, to now making it move forward!

This police car is still a favorite.  They're happy to even just be next to it!

We worked on puzzles together...this one is the "choo choo"!
 and painted railroad crossing signs.
Here we are dancing with the stop signs.
This day was a boys dream come true when we painted with cars!

March began on Friday.  Can you believe it??  This month the children will be learning about community helpers.  We focused on the firefighter Friday, because we thought we were going to get a visit from the fire truck.  So we read about firefighters...
played with a new firehouse toy...
 painted a fire truck red...
and some of the kids dressed up like a firefighter...

This month we are color matching butterflies because we are ready for spring!!!  (Did you see that snow yesterday?)
We're looking forward to another great month with these little ones!  See you Wednesday!
