Funny.

It all started with little Anna Merritt carrying this little bag that matched her outfit so perfectly, so I took a picture:
Then Gabi came up so I could get a picture of her sweet smile:
 Next came Will...
 Then Vivi...
 Then Caroline...
Later I grabbed one of Bode who was enjoying his time in art:
And I snapped this of Oliver on Friday when he refused to take off his gloves even to eat snack!
Another funny pic I took was when Oliver decided to kick back and read a book during our music and movement time.  Everyone just moved right around him.
In art class, the kids colored with markers and then Ms. Heidi sprayed their pictures with water to watch the colors separate.  Most of the kids were not happy that she was messing with their masterpieces.  See the looks of concern.
I love this picture of Ms. Sue laughing.  We have so many moments throughout the day when we just can't help but laugh because this group is so funny.  Love them!  They are all getting so great at sitting for circle time.  Many of them are becoming more talkative and saying the names of friends in class.
We made footprint snowmen.  This was a fun sensory activity...
We read the story "A Wish for Fish" from the Rhyme Bible storybook and then "caught fish" in our own "nets".  They love those glue sticks.
They've been learning about body parts from "Matt Man".  Hands, arms, legs, feet, head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth.  They're excited when they see him coming out.
Hope you all have a great long weekend.  See you Wednesday!

Happy 2013!

Welcome back friends!  What a great first day back we had on Friday.  They really impressed us with their ability to sit longer for circle time.  We introduced an activity that we will build on throughout this second half of the year, matching faces with first letters (O is for Oliver, V is for Vivi, etc.)
Ms. Sue read The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle as a start to our theme of Nutrition for the month of January.  They did such a great job of staying seated and paying attention.
Next they each got to feed some healthy food to our friend, Mr. Bear.  They loved this!  They also made their own Mr. Bear to feed at home.  (You probably saw this in their bags.)
We put out some new dress-up items to explore...
The colors of the month are black and white, so they used black markers on white paper.  A few of the kids ended up with some black marker on their clothes, but they are washable markers so hopefully no stains were left behind!
I can tell that 2013 is going to be a great year with these little ones.  Glad to be back.  Happy New year!
