ides of March

At this point in the year, the kids are really themselves.  They are talking more, able to pay attention better and really getting into our activities!  Like this finger painting we did of a police car...

 They were VERY enthusiastic!!!

Walker, especially.............................."oh no, mom and dad are going to see this!"
Don't worry Walker, it's non-toxic :)

They're not always messy though...they can sit and do puzzles at the table.
And show off their color matching skills by "helping" their friends (even when the friends don't need help).  They are all doing GREAT with color matching, naming their friends, and beginning to learn their "first letters"!

They each got to practice being a construction worker, complete with the hardhat and vest, while hammering in a nail (assisted, of course.)

Will didn't want to hammer, but we got him try on the outfit anyway.
Our color of the month is green, so they used blue, yellow and green paint on their very own birdhouse.  They are adorable and will be coming home soon so that you can hang them in a tree where the children can see the birds visit all spring.
We also mixed blue and yellow paint (to make green) inside a plastic baggie so that they could use their hands without the mess!  This could be a great activity to do at home too!
Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow.  You should have seen a shamrock in the bags that were sent home on Friday.  We talked about the 3 leaves of the shamrock and filled them with the "love" (hearts) of the Father (God), the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit (who lives in our hearts).
It seems like we've had sickness popping up all over the place lately.  Hopefully spring will bring health for us all!  We hope that you're all able to enjoy this beautiful weekend outside and get some fresh air!  See you Wednesday!
